This project focused on the idea that the two cultures, the Ojibwe and Mainstream Americans, separate themselves. This is a problem because like a forest with only one species the limited amount of interaction between the two cultures is unstable, and stunted in growth. Our concept and design solution recognize that each culture may be kept separate, as each species is separate, but through respect, appreciation, and promotion of the positive aspects of each culture the Mainstream and Ojibwe can become connected in order to learn and gain from each other. Like the forest of separate species, the cultures can grow and flourish, and thus become enriched.
