Focusing on space, the design for the Anchorage Children’s Theater was limited to 50,000 cubic feet. The design for the children’s theater lobby was based on the process that water goes through when it is affected by different temperatures. The forms that are created during this process were the inspiration for the finishes and design of the lobby interior. To help children better understand the process of how temperature affects its surroundings, a series of interactive furniture and finishes were added.
