B.S. clothing design

Kate Troutman is an environmental visionary drawing inspiration from diverse sources to create a line that reflects the intricacies of the conservation of biodiversity. Inspired by the ecologist, Dr. Tony Sinclair, Kate decided to create a line of clothing that echoes the symbiotic relationships found between creatures of the Serengeti. The significant order of the giraffe, dung beetle, elephant and lion express the beneficial relationship found between herbivores, soil enriching insects and carnivores at the top of the food chain. Presented here are the elephant and lion, their portrayal enhanced by the shapes and textures created with the fabric manipulation and hand sewn details of the skirt and the collar, respectively.
