Pineview Bluff: Cabin on Lake Vermilion

In Dale Mulfinger’s “Cabin Studio,” we designed cabins on Lake Vermilion near Cook, Minnesota. The surrogate client I chose wanted a spacious feeling plan for entertaining their extended family plus private bedrooms to be able to find some quiet away from the activities. The cabin I designed gives them just that coupled with a grand view down the bluff to the lake the most highly occupied spaces – the living room and porch. Local, sustainable materials are used on the exterior, and the Douglas Fir timber frame structure is complemented on the interior with pale pine boards and a slate floor.
