Urban Lure

This project is a result of Design Studio III. The objective was to design a School of Landscape Ecology – a discipline whose laboratory is the very neighborhoods, fields, forests, and post industrial lots we engage with everyday.  Landscape ecology is as much about natural ecosystems and landscapes as it is about those of technology and man. Our challenge was to develop a design which is both frame for its context and a participant in it. The school is not an inward focused object placed on the landscape, but an outward engaged measuring tool embedded in it.
