Financing, Housing, Counseling: A Nonprofit Business Plan

Financing Housing Counseling: A Nonprofit Business Plan A nonprofit organization serves a variety of purposes depending on the clients it targets and the market it serves. The background of each organization varies as well. To explore how a nonprofit is developed, founded and established, a hypothetical housing counseling organization was invented. As a result of this exercise, a business plan including the organization’s mission and vision, objectives, target audience, organizational structure, governing board guidelines, and a plan on how to run the business for the first five years was created. In preparing this information, extensive secondary research was conducted. In addition, primary research from a compilation of interviews with four nonprofit directors of housing organizations was integrated. Overall, this business plan demonstrates how a nonprofit housing counseling organization in Minnesota is started and how it may plan to run its organization for the first five years.
